Mediterranean Meze: Sesame - Covent Garden

August 25, 2015

It's great discovering authentic and honest Mediterranean cuisine in London. For that brief moment we feel as though we've been whisked off to a small restaurant on the shore of the med, with the waves crashing in the distance and soft sea breeze as the sun draws in.

Sesame Covent Garden (Garrick Street to be exact), is host to a magnificently Mediterranean menu with refreshing salads, meat and vegetable pitta combo and hearty skewed meat grilled to perfection. The menu doesn't just stop there. Sesame has a delicious dessert selection to choose from, so if you have a sweet tooth and are looking to try some authentic Mediterranean sweets, this ones for you.

Sesame offers an eclectic mix of Mediterranean Middle Eastern cuisine, from indulgent deserts to sumptuously satisfying mains. Our favourite picks are right here. Just thinking about them makes us hungry, we can't wait for round two!

First for our savoury selection. We suggest sinking your teeth into the paprika and cardamom chicken with chopped salad, sauerkraut, hummus and zhoug. A combo which will please the fussiest of eaters. We also recommend the lemon and za'atar skewered chicken and sweet potato with baby spinach with mograbieh and za'atar.

Now for the anticipated sweet selection. No matter how much we've eaten before we can also find space for a sweet treat even if we have to force it down. We can see ourselves stocking up on these delicious finds!
Left to right: sesame brittle, caramel peanut brittle and last but by no means least, buabussa. The naughty thing about these are that they're bite size so it means we can take them back to the office with us and snack throughout the day.
